NOTE: Please ONLY apply if you have sufficient experience and skills required as per job description below.Job Summary:A Systems Engineer is part of the DBS system engineering team. The team is responsible for systems engineering and systems support of the DBS projects globally. Downhole Broadband Solutions (DBS) is NOV MDT's range of Wired Pipe products. The team is also responsible for developing, maintaining and testing this system. Working as part of this team, the Systems Engineer will be assigned specific tasks within project work, support, and development by the department manager. The Systems Engineer MEA has a specific responsibility for project work in the Middle East. The key focus is to deliver and support these projects; secondary focus is to assist the remaining team with system development.RESPONSIBILITIES:Engineer, setup, test and install the solutions for DBS projects in the Middle East, including drawings, documentation, configurations, etc.Provide field support and troubleshooting of NOV's DBS drilling systems and tools.Communicate with other groups, customers, and 3rd parties to align on requirements.Development and debug of System configuration software interfaces prior to project or product release.Some domestic and international travel should be expected, both office and on-site (offshore and onshore), mainly in the Middle East region.BEHAVIORAL SKILLS/COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:DBS projects engineeringDeliver assigned projects according to the current project engineering process.Perform the technical engineering tasks including networking, configuration, documentation, installation, deployment, etc.Perform tests both internally, externally, FAT with client, and support of I&C offshore.Collaborate with the team to continuously develop this process.Deliver technical solutions and documentation for the assigned projects.Assist the team with other project tasks as requested.DBS projects supportParticipate in on-call schedules.Track issues and support towards active operations.Workshop supportSoftware installation and troubleshooting of the various software packages on test environments, memory retrieval, and calibration computers. Maintain the necessary procedures.System Development, testing and supportParticipate in the development of the next system releases according to the development process.Perform tickets as assigned.Maintain and support common test and development environments.Testing of new system releases and subcomponents.Capabilities:Candidates with experience and knowledge in these areasVirtualization Technologies.Networking (firewalls, VLANs, Routing, etc).Industry protocols (like OPC-UA, WITSML, Modbus).SQL.Container technologies.Good understanding of the DBS system components both software and hardware.Good understanding of the purpose and use of the DBS system in the field.Excellent English listening, oral, and written communication skills.Strong team player.Strong problem solver.Time management.EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/SKILL-SET REQUIRED:Bachelor’s or master's degree in computer science, Automation, Cybernetics, or similar.3+ Years of Experience.Reporting:This position will directly report to the regional DBS manager but have a dotted line to the Manager of System Engineering Norway.#J-18808-Ljbffr
