The Field Operator will be responsible for the local operations of the plant to ensure it meets the required availability, reliability, efficiency, generation, and cost targets, safely and within strict environmental limits. This will include regular equipment start-ups, shutdowns, changeovers, and regular operation/monitoring, as well as responding to alarms and emergency conditions. The role requires a detailed understanding and practical experience of the technologies associated with operating a modern Gas Turbine Plant, Desalination plant, and a wide range of auxiliary equipment.Functions/Tasks:Safety, Quality & EnvironmentResponsible to ensure compliance with IMS. Perform all operational activities in line with the safety management system and environmental management system.Responsible to perform the assigned duties and other duties in line with the implementation of safety rules.Provide monitoring for the ongoing maintenance jobs in assigned areas.Reporting of unsafe conditions and behaviors.Conduct routine plant checks, i.e., plant round-ups and completion of log sheets.Perform operational actions under direction from the CRO (i.e., Valve operations, switching on/off pumps, or resetting the local alarms, etc.) to avoid any abnormal plant operations or to correct existing abnormalities.Prepare the plant for start-ups in accordance with approved operations procedure.Perform plant shut down and extended shut down preservation of plant routines in accordance with approved operations procedure. Perform manual intervention actions during trip conditions and maintain close supervision to ensure safe run down of the plant.Practical application of safety rules performing safe plant isolations from the system to allow routine maintenance activities. De-isolates and restores plant equipment safely to the system.Perform routine maintenance activity on the plant such as lube oil top-up, filter replacement, and other operational activities.Support CRO during emergency situations.Carry out the sample analysis of the plant process steam water cycle in cases where a chemist is not on-site and on Demin water, distillate, portable water, and other samples.Monitor and evaluate the performance of various plant systems and equipment.Responsible for maintaining safety and housekeeping of the plant.Initiates routine operational activities.Complete the field operator’s skill matrix and work as acting CRO and take complete charge of power and desal blocks as CRO.Maintenance ActivitiesPerform lube oil top-up as required on plant equipment.Perform routine site inspections on a regular basis to update plant equipment status.Carry out dewatering routine in specified areas of the plant as required.Raising Work Orders Regarding Defects and Abnormal ConditionsRaise service requests in the system for defects and coordinate with Shift Engineer for approval.Assist maintenance personnel to pinpoint equipment defects when necessary.Management of Plant Chemicals:Responsible for changing over of chemical tanks.Maintaining Water QualityTo ensure the export quality of potable water to meet WHO guidelines and potable water quality standards set in the Agreement.Follow all relevant operational procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.Communications & Working RelationshipsDaily communication of plant operational issues and defects with the CRO and Shift Engineer and other team members.Daily coordination and cooperation with CRO and Maintenance Staff for routine and emergency operational and maintenance activities.Follow the shift handover protocol and communication protocol as per the approved procedures.The job holder operates under the general guidance of the CRO.Any extraordinary issues arising outside of set policies and procedures are to be referred to the CRO/Shift In charge for discussion and approval of recommended actions.Accountable for Outcomes:Plant HSE objectives and goals.Audit of compliance with corporate, safety, and environmental standards.Reporting Incidents and Near Miss and perform safety walkdown as per the KPIs assigned to him.Quality of Operations Roundups, Log Sheets, Data Entry, & Raised Work Orders.Maintenance of Plant Water Chemistry, Distillate & Potable Water Quality.Application of proper Isolations & De-Isolations as per safety documentation and other safety precautions.Efficient management of plant chemicals.Effective planning of safe chemical tank changeover.Compliance with the potable water quality requirements.Training and development of OJTs and junior staff.Completion of Operation’s skill matrix for his development.Business Unit: GBU Flexible Gen & RetailDivision: Thermal AMEA - KSALegal Entity: JUBAIL O&M COMPANY LIMITEDContract Type: PermanentJob Type: Full-TimeProfessional Experience: Skilled (>3 experience
