Group Chief Information Officer | Confidential Abu Dhabi | Apply Now KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Strategy Development, Planning and/or Contribution Act as a member of the executive management team, participate in the development and refinement of the Group’s overall vision, strategy and objectives, and contribute to the overall process of corporate management and decision making to ensure the Group maximizes its short, medium and long-term profitability. In conjunction with the Group CEO, formulate and direct the implementation of the department specific strategy in line with the Group’s vision, mission and corporate objectives. Ensure that the overall business strategy and objectives are translated into annual operational business plans and targets for the department and the performance is monitored. People Management Provide overall direction for the effective achievement of department objectives through effective leadership and by setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing, and motivating team to maximize performance. Collaborate with colleagues in the management team, to synergize efforts across the Group for the successful achievement of strategic objectives. Provide overall direction and guidance to mentor, coach, motivate and challenge the direct reports and their teams, providing opportunities for growth and development. Budgeting and Financial Performance Direct the preparation and consolidation of the department budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues; areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon. Policies, Systems, Processes&Procedures Direct the development and oversee the implementation of department specific policies, systems, processes, procedures, and controls covering all areas so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service in a consistent manner. Change Management Direct and guide the management of change through continuous improvement of department specific systems, processes and practices considering ‘global leading standards and changes in the business environment. Reporting Direct the preparation of periodical management reports and progress reports to keep the Group Leadership&Board of Directors informed about the progress of various initiatives and to facilitate decision-making. IT Leadership Formulate a comprehensive IT strategy that synergizes with the organization’s overarching business objectives, focusing on digital innovation to propel both retail and real estate sectors forward. Champion digital transformation across the group, advocating for the integration of cutting-edge technologies to streamline operations, enhance customer engagement, and improve product and service delivery. Lead the identification, development, and deployment of innovative IT solutions tailored to the retail and real estate sectors, enhancing customer experience and operational efficiency, and ensuring alignment with business unit needs. Stay ahead of technological advancements and industry trends to guide the organization through tech-driven changes, ensuring the organization remains competitive and resilient in a fast-evolving digital landscape. Guarantee the delivery of high-quality IT services across the organization, implementing service management standards that achieve or exceed service levels, and managing SLAs with both internal and external service providers. Infrastructure Oversee the design and implementation a scalable, secure, and resilient IT infrastructure incorporating cloud solutions, data centers, and network systems to support the organization’s current needs and future growth. Oversee&plan of strategic upgrades and expansions of the IT infrastructure to incorporate new technologies and increase operational capacities in line with the organization’s growth strategy. Ensure the highest standards of system security and reliability across all IT infrastructure, minimizing downtime and protecting against cyber threats with advanced security protocols. Guide the development a robust cybersecurity strategy that protects the organization’s digital assets, data privacy, and operational integrity against cyber threats and vulnerabilities. Risk Management Oversee the conduction of comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential IT security risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect the organization’s infrastructure and data. Ensure the organization’s cybersecurity practices comply with international standards and regulatory requirements, implementing governance frameworks to manage IT risks effectively. Data Management Lead initiatives to foster a data-driven culture within the organization, emphasizing the use of data analytics and business intelligence to inform strategic decision-making. Oversee the establishment of robust data governance frameworks to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of the organization’s data across all systems and platforms. Leverage advanced analytics tools to provide actionable business insights, supporting strategic planning and operational improvements across the organization. IT Governance Lead the Development of a comprehensive IT governance framework that aligns IT projects with business goals, ensures regulatory compliance, and maximizes return on IT investments. Implement monitoring tools and KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness of IT governance practices, adjusting strategies to improve efficiency and business alignment. Stakeholder Relationships Cultivate strategic partnerships with key technology vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts that deliver value and innovation to the organization. Actively engage with internal and external stakeholders to align IT services with business needs, ensuring clear communication and understanding of IT initiatives. Establish criteria for evaluating vendor performance, ensuring the organization receives high-quality services and products that meet contractual and business requirements. Cost Management Oversee the financial management of the IT department, including budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring cost-effective allocation of IT resources. Conduct ROI analysis for IT investments, presenting business cases to senior management and the Board of Directors to support informed decision-making. Lead the identification and implementation of cost reduction initiatives across IT operations without compromising service quality or security, maximizing the value of IT expenditures.
